Diploma awarding ceremony 2021-2022

The inaugural ceremony of the Diploma in Democracy, Governance, and Public Policy was held on 12th June 2021 via Zoom with the participation of numerous political leaders and highly recognized professionals. Senior Lecturer Dhamma Dissanayake and Mr. Austin Fernando (Former secretariat to the president and former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India) addressed the gathering as special invitees.

Former speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament Honourable Karu Jayasuriya, Honourable Mano Ganesan M.P, Honourable Premnath C. Dolawatte M.P, Honourable Patali Champika Ranawaka M.P, Honourable Shanakkiyan Rasamanikkam M.P, Mr. Palitha Rangebandara (Secretary of United National Party), and Mr. Eric Weerawardhana (Secretary of Sri Lanka Freedom Party – Youth Front) expressed their well-wishes for the programme and the scholars. The diploma is been conducted every Saturday from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm for a period of six months. Three out of eight major themes are already covered and it has been an ultimate pleasure to serve a group of courageous and interactive scholars.

The General Convocation of the Institute of Politics is scheduled to be held on 15th January 2022 from 3.00 PM onwards at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. We are delighted to mention that over 50 students who successfully completed the IOP Diploma in Governance, Democracy and Public Policy will be obtaining their diploma certificates at the event.
